Point Me in the Direction of Albuquerque

I'm not going to turn this into yet another weight-loss blog, but I just wanted to say that after trying every diet known to woman I've decided to give the Weight Watchers "Points" Flex Plan a try. It seems (after three days) to fit in well with my home-cookin', processed-food avoidin', nifty online software lovin' self. Any diet that allows me to eat the leftovers from last Saturday's party while also making sure I get my 5-a-day-fruits-and-veggies can't be all bad. Note that I consider open bottles of wine to be legitimate leftovers!

Moving on to the title of this post...when I was a small child in the 70's I used to love watching "The Partridge Family." The first non-little-kids "Mother Goose" type record album I ever had was the Partridge Family's first album. I bought a CD copy of it a while ago and believe it or not it still sounds pretty good. In that super sweet happy kind of way. I'm amazed that something I liked when I was about five is still with me now.

I had great luck with WW a few years ago...suited my anal detail-oriented self, and I like the ethos of eat what you want as long as the points work out. My only difficulty with it now is calibrating exercise points, since most of their philosophy on it seems to be geared towards sedentary people who need to be encouraged to get out and walk for 20 minutes a day. How to adjust to a 5x/studio and 2x/gym per week schedule has stymied me, since I feel like I'm starving to death. On the other hand, haven't tried very hard lately. Sigh...

Wow, thanks for visiting and posting, Jody. I don't know what the WW program was like when you last did it, but they do modify it all the time. Nowadays you earn unlimited "Activity Points" for all the exercise you do. You can then eat the Activity Points! I really like this because people who are athletic can train and still follow WW and lose weight. It might be worth it to sign up for the online tracking tools and see if there are other changes in the program since the last time you did it.

I'm all excited because I went away to the dance competition for the weekend and still managed to stay on program. Today is the first day of week three for me.

I'll check it out. I still think it's pretty much the best program going because it encourages lifestyle changes rather than living on a "diet".

Morphing into a complete foodie and red wine addict has not been great for my figure. But it sure is fun--much better than my espresso and cold cereal diet when I was dancing back in the day with Turtle.
